BIRD WATCHING

There is no better spot for twitchers than on the coastline of Morecambe Bay. Patty's Barn cottages are located directly on the edge of  Cockerham salt marshes and in one of the most important wading bird habitats in the UK. As the weather gets colder the wildlife gets better.

The area attracts over a quarter of a million wading birds, you'll see ducks and geese of all kinds and swans throughout the year and we also become a temporary home to some fascinating migration birds, swallows and sand martins. Each year, just like clockwork these wanderers return from Africa to nest in Lancashire.

If you’d like a pair of binoculars, just let us know and we’ll sign a pair out to you so you can go on your own bird scouting adventure.
