Cobblestone Barn
The beautiful exposed beams in Cobblestone Barn are reclaimed pitch pine from a demolished building at Port Sunlight, Liverpool and are very old, probably 1800s. All the stone window sills and headstones along with the building cornerstones (quoins) were sourced from the part demolition of a mill on St Georges Quay, Lancaster, the remaining part of which is still standing and can still be seen now awaiting conversion into either flats or houses.
All the stone cobbles on the outside of the building have actually come off our own farm here in Cockerham and for the roof we have used Burlington slate from Broughton-in-Furness in the Lake District. These are a beautiful traditional slate which will last for a very long time.
The cottages are perfectly situated as a base for a family holiday with fishing and cycling on site, coastal walks and for the more energetic, we have parachuting and wind surfing.
